About the Author

Welcome to my blog! My blog of awesomeness! I’m glad you’re here, get ready to talk video games and have some fun! First, let me introduce myself.

My name is Wardy! I am a media production professional and part-time graduate student studying the crazy world of Interactive Media. This field fascinates me. I spend a lot of time on my phone consuming a variety of media, from YouTube videos to mobile games. I am also a Xbox One & Nintendo 3DS owner, huge video game fanatic, and I have a keen interest in examining how games are developed with user experience in mind.

I firmly believe that video games are the most interactive form of media in existence. They allow you to take control of your favorite characters, or create your own, and get immersed into these larger than life stories. I love stories and I love playing a part in them. There is nothing more satisfying than seeing that little Cyndaquil grow up into a Typhlosion all because of your time and training. If that is not enough, multiplayer modes bring thousands of players together. Console games, in cases, can connect you with up to 63 other players. Massive-multiplayer-online games (MMO’s) on PC can connect you to even more. Imagine, people in the ten-of-thousands-plus being able to communicate with each other and share in an activity.

It all started with Pong. Since then, the video game industry has blossomed into a multi-billion dollar industry featuring competitive businesses and marketing campaigns. You can see advertisements for games all the time on television … even free-to-play mobile games. Angry Birds had a movie made about it. Video games are hugely popular and are most certainly not a niché.

So, what is the plan with Wardy’s Blog of Awesomeness? Well, I plan to bring you one of the best, yet, most relaxing conversations about video games. I want gamers to read these posts and find an informed and satisfying conversation. I want non-gamers to read and hopefully learn something about this amazing industry and community. There are so many avenues we can talk about. There’s business, marketing, development, news, events, rumors, etc. The list goes on and on. Most importantly, there are the games. At their core, they are about having fun. I like to have fun. Hopefully, you’ll see that too.

I am super interested in covering topics that interest you. My goal is to vary the games and consoles that I mention and cover, to provide wide coverage of the industry. However, you will begin to notice some of the games I particularly enjoy. If you have any requests or recommendations please do not hesitate to leave a comment!
